The essence and identity of our territory, Panzano in Chianti

The winery Il Palagio di Panzano is located in a privileged position, on the south and south-west side of the Conca d’Oro, a few steps from Panzano in Chianti, a charming village in the heart of the Chianti Classico area.

Creative soul

The vineyards are like the second home for Franco, here he knows every stone and every plant. His accuracy and great care in the vineyard are the best guarantee of quality and distinctiveness of all our wines. Franco loves to grow wine but he also has another passion that ties him to our land: the artisanal restoration of antique Tuscan furniture. A superb winemaker with a creative soul!

Territorial elegance

Our wines are both, territorial and elegant. They are distinguished by their marked minerality coupled with a refined bouquet with notes of red fruits. The Chianti Classico, the Riserva, our Rosato Aldemara as well as the Gran Selezione Vigna delle Bambole originate from a careful selection of our indigenous grape variety: sangiovese.

Refined purity

In the cellar as in the vineyard of Il Palagio di Panzano we rely on natural processes, with separate vinifications to enhance the characteristics of each vineyard plot and guarantee the high quality of our wines. Each wine has its own history, which is why we reserve different ageing and refining processes, taking care to preserve the typical hints of sangiovese.

Two families, one destiny among the vineyards of Chianti

Our family histories are rooted in the vineyards of Chianti Classico. It is here, between the rows of vines of Il Palagio di Panzano in the heart of Tuscany, that our grandfathers Dario and Dino worked the land in respect of the enchanting nature of the Conca d’Oro. And it was still on the lands of Il Palagio that Monia’s father, Fabrizio Piccini, conducted the winery, which we are now carrying on with respect for our roots but with the courage to take new paths.

The present and the future of our Palagio di Panzano consists in sustainable production to enhance the unique character of our “terroir” and to obtain wines of the highest territorial expression. The path of organic farming links us to the Unione Viticoltori di Panzano, of which we are members. Sustainability for us is also synonymous with family run. Staying small is the only way to guarantee high quality for every single bottle.

The wines of Il Palagio di Panzano are clearly distinguished by their territoriality. They are the highest expression of the soil of the estate’s vineyards. The sangiovese of Il Palagio aims to be genuine and unadulterated and with the clear imprint of “Palagio” and “Panzanese”.
